Enterprise Engineering Services Announces Significant BP Contract Win

Enterprise Engineering Services announces it has been awarded a six figure sum contract by BP Exploration Operating Company Ltd (BP).

The work involves the provision of manufacturing services to Project Aurora at Shetland’s Sullom Voe Terminal, one of the largest oil and liquefied gas terminals in Europe.

During the ten month contract, the Enterprise team will fabricate a range of materials which will be used to tie in additional piperacks at BP’s existing plant. The manufacturing of hook up spools, tie-ins and structured steel supports will take place at its West Tullos Industrial Estate workshop and will be assembled by Wood Group onsite before summer 2010.

Enterprise Managing Director Andrew Scott, says, "The project at Sullom Voe Terminal is a significant win for us and will help to further build Enterprise’s profile within the North Sea. It comes on the back of a steady stream of new business wins which have seen the organisation grow by 10% in the last financial year and employ an additional four personnel in the workshop."

The contract also signifies the strengthening business relationship of Enterprise and BP after working together on a string of fabrication projects over the past 20 years. Last month, it was awarded a three-year contract extension by the oil giant for the provision of pipespool and steelwork fabrication across all BP’s facilities in the North Sea.

Andrew continues, "We are encouraged by the return of such a valued customer as it is indicative of the quality craftsmanship we have provided time and time again. With every job our objectives are to help our clients reduce operational shutdown times, eliminate unnecessary hot work on site and reduce site labour costs. We achieve these cost reductions by making sure that our fabrication work is ‘right first time’ in the workshop. The methods we use ensure that items are accurate and will fit exactly when assembled on site."

With an annual turnover of more than £14 million, Enterprise currently employs 140 staff both onshore at its workshops and offices and offshore on client facilities. It has a diverse portfolio of skills which has seen the company grow from a sheet metal fabrication facility in the 1960’s to a three division group comprising of Enterprise Engineering, Scottish Rig Repairs (SSR) and Site Services. Together it provides fabrication services to the oil and gas industry, repair and modification services to a number of major drilling companies worldwide and onsite maintenance to the hydro power, water control and paper industries.
